My new go-to place for special occasions. The foods delicious, service is excellent, and the view of the ocean is amazing.
Beautiful room, but the food was pretty miserable. I ordered a Caesar salad with steak medium. The steak was overcooked and mostly fat. It was inedible. I knew it was a risk ordering a steak on a Sunday morning but I expected better. My companion was not impressed with his meal either. It's a great space for sitting and talking, and the service is very good, but the food is forgettable
the staff were great. we got greeted nicely. Great ambiance. The food was ok. Could add more fish to the menu.
I had such a great lunch experience at Terrazza! The view is amazing and the staff is so gracious. I highly recommend visiting the hotel and restaurant.
The decor, the ambiance and sunset view is amazing but the food is nothing to brag about especially given for how pricey it is. I would def be back but probably just for drinks
Very pretty view of the ocean. Expensive guacamole was $19
The food was excellent but the serving size for the beet salad was very small but expensive. Thankfully the server told us it was too small to share, but it was still surprisingly small. The prices though are to be expected for the location.
Food was mid
Tterraza is beautiful it’s a place to transcend from everyday life to a mini escape. Beautiful ocean views & catch a sunset - wow!
The decor itself is elegant I love they have so much greenery indoors-
The service is great always friendly
The food is delicious had the crab cake as an appetizer delicious but over priced and 1 is enough for 2 - you get about 2 bites each
Dinner was a Caesar salad and a pizza with mushrooms again pizza super delicious , salad had anchovy again delicious!
I had a lovely brunch with friends (one visiting from Dallas) and they all loved it. I love coming here and I will be back.
Alberto, our server, was PERFECT!!!
I chose Terraza to spend the last Sunset of the year during pandemia because I believed it required its guests to show proof of vaccination.
Alas, my celebratory mode was disrupted by a single patron on the phone 2 tables away loudly boasting how she was unvaccinated and then coughing loudly.
My server confirmed that no vaccine card verification was required of the guests! What? No observation of LA COUNTY or SANTA MONICA mandates? Terraza is both indoors and a Bar.
Not only that, an entire wedding party was allowed at the Bar area maskless during Omicron, a strain of Covid that spreads faster than the speediest virus thus far, measles! California has an indoor mask mandate.
Terraza and Casa prefer to cater to those who defy public health instead of supporting those who participate in it.
Good to know.
Thankfully, there are still establishments, like the Fairmont, that support public health, their workers, and the public.
I will happily patronize those.
Thank you to the staff for a year of rejuvenating experiences at the pop up on the Boardwalk.
Cheers.
Fantastic view. Great service we would definitely return
Zero service. Christmas dinner. Expected more. All deserts gone except cheesecake. Won’t do that again- ever.
Christmas Day brunch - I went with my family visiting from New York - 95 pp and the food was good but not great. Drinks were expensive, about $20 each. Overall experience was excellent, loved the restaurant decor and view!
We were there with my friend for my birthday today and not only their Christmas menu was special and they did not have anything else except for that special menu which was $95 each. My friend wanted to pay for both of us so obviously I did not want her to spend that much. After talking to the manager they accepted to give us their lounge menu. The food was good, but the view was perfect. The waiter Adrian was very helpful. Then they gave us a complimentary cheese platter and mimosas! I couldn’t believe how generous they were. They made my birthday special! Thank you all and special thanks to Vahid the manager who accommodated all of that!
Lovely setting, pleasant staff. Meagre food amenities: no bread?? fish dry, no sauce; salad/soup not included. Pricey for tacos, etc, , perhaps worth it for special occasion.
Every dining experience at Terrazza, be it brunch/lunch or dinner, is a delight. The staff is lovely, the food delicious, the service impeccable, and then there's the view.
The restaurant itself it gorgeous. Staff was attentive. View would have been phenomenal if I had gone before dark. The price is just way out of line for the quality of the food. An average-quality holiday cocktail was $22 & the margherita pizza was ~$24, but really subpar. I’ve had better frozen pizzas.
Wonderful night
Very enjoyable outdoor setting.
Great time, food could be better, probably because it was thanksgiving meal. Should try again.
Thanksgiving dinner was very special and we loved the quiet table and the live jazz. Our kids appreciated the kids menu, apple cider and the ambiance was also approachable for families. Highly recommend.
The special Thanksgiving dinner was a disappointment. The turkey was room temp and dry, the vegetables were undercooked, the the plating was unappetizing. The dessert was good. Unfortunately the dinner was not up to the normal standards of the restaurant.
Big holiday with much expectation. Our experience was quite good, beautiful restaurant, beautiful sunset and excellent food.
The thanksgiving menu was overpriced. I don't eat any animals nor fish, so I had the vegetarian option, which was really tiny and not very flavorful. The butternut squash was nothing special, either. The desserts were fine, but I don't eat dessert, so I had one bite. Other restaurants had a vegan option, menu, that was less than the regular menu. Wish they had offered that. My friend asked for more butter, for the bread, and our server pointed to the second one on the table, also nearly empty, and said, "there is more there." How dare we ask for more butter. The only thing that saved the evening was the live music in the lobby, afterward. Matt Von Roderick was in fine form playing some of our favorite standards (the really good ones) and a few holiday songs, along with Mitchell Long on guitar. You can't beat the view and the atmosphere at Casa del Mar, but I don't recommend the holiday meals.
Fantastic service, delicious food, incredible view, well appointed furnishings. This restaurant is quickly becoming a favorite.
Went for a Thanksgiving meal at 2pm. . Three courses. $115/person. The first two courses were great, desert just so-so. My spouse thought the same. Both were dried out and kind of stale. The atmosphere was top notch. Sat next to the window looking out the Santa Monica beach and pier on a spectacular day! The price was well worth it for the view alone.
The ambience is lovely. However, the food is not as advertised and the waiters don't document your orders so almost every item we ordered was incorrect.
After getting every item of our order incorrect, the waiter took the time to blame the runner and vice versa. I don't care who caused the issues, just bring what I ordered. They literally tried to force a pizza on me I didn't order.
They then said sorry he was pushy about forcing the pizza. The kitchen is 3 floors up and it is hard on them running up and down.
Again, not my problem - especially given the prestige of casa del mar and the ambience you are paying extra for.
I would never go back again. Just suck it up and wait for a table at shutters. There is a reason Terrazza is empty and Shutters has a significant wait.
Short staffed, mediocre food, bland drinks overall not what I expected to experience
Overall, a good experience. The service was really good. Great recommendation was made regarding lamb shank. A couple of dishes were less than impressive. Caesar salad had very little dressing and more other types of lettuce than Romaine; lobster roll was bland.
Fantastic atmosphere and great food, perfect for a date or nite on the town.
The best place! love service and food Casa Del Mar
The Terraza restaurant is no longer an outdoor terrace but inside the Hotel Casa del Mar and you discover that when you are there. Extremely disappointing.
Beautiful setting, excellent food and prompt service. The octopus was cooked perfectly, and the crabcake paired with its garnish was extremely flavorful. The oysters were very fresh and the fish tacos were very tasty and filling - flaky fish and just slightly breaded with a wonderful sauce and seasoning. The drinks were done well. Will come back!
There was a wedding on the outdoor terrace where we had booked our table so we were seated upstairs in the lobby restaurant. Although we would have preferred being outside given the pandemic, the upstairs room was large and lovely and the tables spaced well so we were not overly concerned. The food was well executed and the wine underwhelming.
All the way around a great experience. Great delicious food and the service is on point. I really love this place.
The server was excellent. He is polite and friendly.
The reason for the four rating, is that our food was cold. This was the 3rd time in a row that our food was cold. Cold Eggs Benedict, Potatoes, Burger. For some reason, they cannot get the food to the patio hot. We won't go back again and eat in the patio. We will wait to eat inside.
Great time!!
We did dinner and breakfast and the food it world class. Wine list was amazing and 25 year Macallan.
