Bianca: For me growing up, it was always like I did have a lot of people doubting me and what I could be able to do. Here at AIM, I've come on board as a 2018 co-CEO. (Text on screen reads: Because of her, we can. NAIDOC week.) Bianca: My name is Bianca Hunt. I'm a proud Kamilaroi and Barkindji woman on my dad's side, and a Ballardong and Whadjuk woman on my mother's side. With this year's theme as "Because of her, we can" To me growing up, it was always about having a strong and powerful mother. She never allowed other people to make her feel bad. My mum, she became the first in her family to go to university as well. And that pathway has always been quite strong and predominant in my family. Having such a small family, it's kind of hard not to follow the leader, I guess. She's a Noongar woman. Um, they're very strong women. So, I think I've definitely gotten that side of her. If I didn't see that growing up, I don't think I would be able to be as strong in who I am without it. What I believe I am as a role model is to purely just teach people or hopefully show people that they can be proud of who they are. So if I can lead someone else to be very strong and proud in who they are, I feel like I've done my job right.
