Summary: This is a single-page comic split into ten panels. It features two main characters, Aunty Maggie and her 17-year-old-nephew, Mundarra, who is struggling with the stress of an upcoming assignment that he hasn't started. Narrative: Panel 1: It’s night-time, but still hot and sticky. Mundarra lays flat on his bed facing the ceiling fan. Surrounding him are open textbooks and half-eaten plates of food. He’s still wearing his senior high school uniform. He doesn’t look too good, his eyes are wide open staring up at the ceiling, jagged lines vibrate near his head emphasising the state he’s in. Panel 2: Aunty Maggie knocks at the door. “You right in there?”, she says. Mundarra continues to stare blankly into the ceiling fan. Panel 3: Aunty Maggie comes in and sits at his bedside. She sees the open textbooks and his laptop on the desk – no words are written on his essay, the wall calendar says, “DUE”. Panel 4: Mundarra has a guilty look on his face but Aunty Maggie says, “Why don’t you take a break from all this, bub?” Panel 5: Mundarra un-sticks his head from the bed and says, “Aye?”. Aunty Maggie says, “You’re not getting anything done stressing. Take the day off tomorrow, go do something you love”. Panel 6: Mundarra looks to his soccer ball that's sitting in the corner of the room, with a small smile he says, “Anything? I'll text some mates". Aunty Maggie has her hand on his shoulder and smiles widely. Panel 7: We see a group text chat exchange between Mundarra and friends. Mundarra texts, “This essay got me beat! BBQ at Babinda tomorrow? Who’s down?”z. The replies stream back with enthusiasm, "Sounds good to me!", "Yes! I'll be there.", "I'm down". The message stream is overlayed on top of a p-plate car driving past sugarcane crops. The car is filled with Mundarra and his mates. Panel 8: There are vignettes of Mundarra and his mates, kicking the soccer ball around in a tight circle, jumping off the boulders into the water and eating sausage sandwiches. Panel 9: After the refreshing swim, Mundarra and his mates are sitting on one of the boulders in the sun. Mundarra says “This essay has me in a choke-hold, swear!”. One of his mates replies, “TG! I haven’t even started..”. Another says “I wrote my name down”.They all crack up in laughter. Panel 10: Mundarra sits in front of his laptop smiling. There’s plenty more essay written now. Small message bubbles surround him from his mates. “Mad day at Boulders brus. Needed that!” “Just smashed out first draft. Oss!” “We got this boys, lessgo!”. His bedroom door is slightly ajar and Aunty Maggie's head is popped in. She says, “Proud of you, bub”.
