Pia Miranda and Dr Preeya Alexander sit across from each other in a warmly lit studio. They have large microphones stretched out on stands in front of them. A super appears on screen over a shot of Preeya that reads: Can boys have bad body image? Preeya: Boys, males are not immune to this. Certainly boys and males can really develop body dissatisfaction. This comparison factor, when you're seeing particularly this 'body ideal' that's being sold. Pia: Oh, the big muscly dudes, man. Preeya: Correct. Pia: Like that's not attainable. Preeya: Correct! Pia: If you wanna like have a life. Preeya: That's not attainable and it's certainly not the ideal because the ideal body doesn't exist. So the signs are people suddenly trying to tailor [their] body, kind of being quite regimented, compensatory behaviours, going to the gym more. That's probably the time to have the discussion. But I would head to Butterfly 'cause they've got amazing stuff on this. -END-
