(TITLE: ADHD AND CO-EXISTING CONDITIONS with Rudy and Rashida) Rudy: I had just been diagnosed with ADHD in 2021. I had sort of a doubtful feeling that I was also autistic. However, I was really unsure. And the thing that made me pursue it was my partner. He said, 'You have been on all of these other dates where the other person you had been on a date with had asked you if you were autistic.' He was like, 'What was even weirder, Rudy, was that all of those people were autistic,' and he's like, 'There is an insane pattern of coincidence happening here.' Rashida: So I think what's really interesting to talk about is comorbidity, and comorbidity is the other conditions that can sometimes be present alongside the ADHD or whatever condition you might be experiencing. I think the statistics are around 30 to 50% of those with ADHD will end up meeting some criteria for autism. Then there's the other conditions like anxiety and depression. And I notice like a lot of clients come in for anxiety or depression, and because I work with neurodivergence and I know what I'm looking at and looking for and, you know, understanding how it can present, I'm the one that raises it with them and I'm like 'Hold on a second here, I think we need to do some screening for ADHD or autism or both.'
