(TITLE: ADHD MYTH BUSTING, with Rudy and Rashida, part 1) Rashida: 'ADHD is overdiagnosed'. Myth. Complete myth. It is not overdiagnosed. I think it is just being diagnosed. Like there is new research coming out daily. Therefore, clinicians are more aware of what the symptoms are, how they present. We talked about how they can present so differently to each individual person. Globally, actually Australia is underdiagnosing. So we are actually meeting our global levels of diagnosis. Rashida: 'ADHD is a superpower.' Rudy: I don't agree with that. I think that minimises the challenges and the other things that come with being ADHD or having ADHD. And I think putting it on a podium as if it's some kind of desirable thing to have or that someone should feel super empowered by having this thing going on with them. It misplaces all of those really valid emotions and feelings that either we experience when we first learn that we have ADHD and also ones that we may continue to have throughout our life.
