- I do know what self-care is, and I practise self-care pretty regularly. - Self-care is basically looking after your wellbeing. - Really, really looking after yourself in every aspect of your life. - Self-care is something that I looked up on my way here. (Full screen tile: What parents think about ... self care) - Self-care is looking after yourself physically and mentally, so it's looking after yourself and nurturing yourself and giving yourself some time to meet your needs and having some time out for yourself so that you can be less stressed and be able to clear your mind and think clearer. (Full screen tile: How do you practice self-care?) - We've got a dog, so I walk the dog when I need to. I've got, we've just moved to Pymble a few years ago and got a backyard, which is kinda my place to go. - Follow a decent diet, try to exercise, not all, I don't always get around to do it because of time restrictions. - Mindfulness is really important for me. I used to be quite a mindfulness sceptic, I must say. - Trying to eat healthy, veggies and pieces of fruit and things like that. - In looking after myself, it's not just that, it's the other intake and the other things I do in terms of socialising, meeting people. It's reading books. - I really enjoy at the end of the day, some quiet time to myself. I enjoy being able to lie on that lounge and read. - Utilising my friends and my family and network as support and that's been really wonderful. - For me, self-care is really making sure I'm in a good place, looking at what I can take on, what I can't take on. - I'm also very religious. I'm a strong Catholic, so that has, faith has a very important, plays a very important role in my life. - Anything that will make me feel better or let me relax. (Full screen tile: What do you get out of self-care?) - Just actually a time to be in my head and deal with whatever's going on. - A better life in every way. And also, more energy. - You need to look after yourself first, so then you've got the capacity and the strength to then look after others.
