In 2016, PWAs (Progressive Web Apps) were made to give users a fast, engaging, and more meaningful experience on mobile devices. There was a lot of good traction that came with its release and in 2017, PWA became more mainstream. It is now being adapted by more organizations and companies, such as Twitter and Forbes.
